Despedida REM artista del mes

en el último miércoles del mes de noviembre, llega el último post dedicado a REM como artista del mes... y estuve buscando en youtube alguna cosita para poner, y encontré una buena versión de "Man on the moon" con Bruce Springsteen, "The Boss", como suelen llamarlo

Chinese Democracy a la venta en casi todos lados

El nuevo disco de Guns N’Roses, "Chinese Democracy", está a la venta en todas partes del mundo menos en China, ya que contiene un tema que critica duramente al gobierno del país asiático. El álbum salió este fin de semana, tras una espera de catorce años.

El último disco de Guns N'Roses no está de momento disponible en las tiendas de China, aunque se puede escuchar sin censura alguna por Internet.

La librería Xinhua de Pekín, principal tienda de libros y discos de la capital china, no dispone por el momento de copias del álbum, que salió a la venta a nivel mundial ayer, domingo, aunque sí había otros trabajos anteriores del grupo californiano.

"Es posible que el disco no consiga los derechos de autor en China", comentaba un dependiente de la tienda, quien sabía no obstante que el último disco de la banda hace referencia a China.

Pese a ello, la página de los G N'R en Myspace, donde desde la semana pasada es posible escuchar los temas del nuevo disco -incluido "Chinese Democracy", que le da nombre-, es accesible sin problemas desde este país, así como la web oficial del grupo y los vídeos musicales que se ofrecen en portales como YouTube.

La discográfica que edita el último álbum de Guns N'Roses, Geffen Records, ya adelantó la semana pasada que sería poco probable que el disco pueda distribuirse en China, por su contenido crítico contra Pekín.

En la canción de la polémica, Axl Rose, vocalista del grupo y único componente que queda de la banda original, nombra fugazmente a la organización religiosa budista Falun Gong, de la que es firme defensor y que fue ilegalizada por las autoridades chinas en 1999.

El tema estrella del disco contiene otras claras alusiones desafiantes al régimen comunista, como un verso que dice "incluso con puño de hierro/todo lo que tienen es el gobierno de la nación/pero yo tengo el tiempo precioso".
